Rachel Aschalew is a highly sought-after luxury broker, outspoken community advocate, and the founder and CEO of Find What’s Rare. Her clients and friends know her as the Mayor of Dumbo, a well-deserved title as she helped catalyze the neighborhood into the desirable market it is today — and knows almost everyone in it.
Before embarking on a career in real estate, Rachel graduated from Pace University in New York City and worked as a trader on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. While working on Wall Street, Rachel learned firsthand that in business, the power of one’s network is often the best indicator of success. This is why she thrives on building personal connections and trust with her clients.
With more than 15 years of experience working in New York City real estate, Rachel has long-standing insight — and authority to dictate — cross-market trends. Real estate has positioned her at the crux of culture and has provided her the opportunity to form relationships with global influencers and change-makers.
Rachel founded her brokerage firm, Find What’s Rare, to counter what she saw as a disconnection between the real estate industry and community awareness. Her mission is to ensure and cultivate the vibrance of the communities that she helps to develop.
Rachel has been a vocal advocate and an active participant in community support efforts. She is a spokesperson and Board Member of Urban Arts Partnership, which advances the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students through arts-integrated education programs.
Most recently, her community efforts have surrounded local businesses, that have struggled to keep doors open amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She has spearheaded fundraisers for local restaurants and engaged her network and audience to amplify messages of local support, inclusion, and community activism.
Rachel’s love and passion for New York is authentic, unwavering and contagious. She prides herself in being a spokesperson for her city.
